....zzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Well this little guy decided it was time to come out and play in the world quite a few days early.  He was born on March 4th 2009 at 18:07. These past few days have been an absolute blur, Dawn and i both have lost track of what day it is.  One of the most frequently pieces of advice given by practically everyone was "enjoy your sleep now, you won't be getting any for a long long time."  I can't remember a time where i missed sleep as much as i have now, we've had to grab little naps throughout the day whenever little man decides he's tired as well. But as much as i miss my long slumbers, just looking into these little sparkling blue-grey eyes and i forget all about pillows and comfy blankets.....well that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it is truly amazing to hold my son and see him looking back up at you.

As promised!

As promised earlier this month here is the long awaited exclusive photo of the twin dressers that we have in Aiden's room!  Took quite a bit longer to get his room all sorted than i thought, Dawn's mom came over a few days ago to help sort through all the great gifts we received from the baby showers. His room is just about complete, just need to hang a few pictures around the room and we'll be all set.  It's really cool peeking in his room and just imaging our little man growing up in there.

Less than a month now!

Well it's finally reached the final month! Looking back time has just flown by and I'm sure these next few weeks will pass just as quickly.  Thank you to all the friends and family that came out to our baby shower in jersey!

Exclusive photo of the twins coming soon!!

Tonight i got home from work and got to play with my new camcorder! Can't wait for Aiden to come on out so i can start filming him. Soon we're going to be moving this blog to another site that has more capabilities, mainly so we'll have more control about posing photos and short videos.  I've already tried out a few other sites but if anyone has any recommendations we'd love to hear it.

Regarding the headline of this post, I'm hoping to be able to upload a new picture of the twins soon.

Well this post is really overdue, the past few times that i've logged on to update this site it's locked up during the publishing phase and losing my posts.  Anyway the past month has been a blur of going to work then coming home and not getting a whole lot of house work  accomplished.  Although Aiden's room is really starting to come together, last Sunday Dawn and I unpacked all the great gifts we recieved during our first baby shower and started making new homes for all the blankets, bibs, and onsies.  A big thank you to everyone who came out on a very cold Saturday to spend some time with us.

This room brought to you be the letter "I"

Once all the paint dried it was time to set up our Scandinavian furniture that we picked up from Ikea. We kinda skipped the little kid furniture and went right for a bookcase and dresser that match all of our other furnishings in the house. Who ever thought up how to take a 4 drawer dresser and make it so it fits in a 2' X 3' X 6" box is a genius and really should be shot.  After we ripped open the cardboard we took out what seemed like 30 little strips of wood and somehow this would turn into a what the picture looked like on the box. Despite me having to read the directions, and being corrected by dawn once or twice we got all the furniture up and it's really starting to hit home that this room is gonna belong to a little person a few months away.  Such a weird and wonderful feeling.

Frog Tape to the rescue!!

Well past few days I've been busy painting my son's room, I'm sure dawn will have some pictures up on here shortly, but his room is defitnally coming together.  During the process of attempting to use that blue painters tape to mask off the trim and having it completely fail, i came across the most wonderful new product, Frog Tape. No longer did i have to worry about seepage from the 3M blue stuff any longer, this stuff just works beautifully.  So if anyone is doing any painting projects soon, i'd highly reccomend shelling out the few extra dollars and getting the green tape instead.

Just another day

Not a lot has changed over the past few weeks, still cleaning up the house in preparation for the little one.  It's amazing how much stuff people can horde, last weekend Dawn and I tore out the storage area under the stairs and threw away box after box full of crap that we saved for some reason. Feels good to do that once in a while, especially since we have a whole lot of baby stuff coming soon.

He's gonna be a soccer player!!

Well finally felt the little guy move tonight!  I've been jealous of Dawn for a while now, she's been able to feel Aiden move and flail about for a few weeks.  Now's he finally strong enough to make her belly pulse, and for the first time i could feel a kick.  That experience was definitely one of the best moments of my life.

Whew.....

It's a boy!  Well.....best guess anyway, the little one wasn't being too cooperative and kept it's legs curled tightly up to prevent any peeping toms.  Despite his best efforts we got a couple of flashes on the ultrasound. Hearing it's a boy was some great news, need more men to help balance out the estrogen to testosterone levels in Dawn's side of the family. Even though he refused to move his body, he raised an arm and gave the it's all OK thumbs up sign in an effort for us to stop prodding.

And it begins....

Well i just got back from the first official pregnant food run, although i guess i can't complain as it gave me an excuse to walk past the beer aisle to restock my minifridge, and out of all the foods that I've heard pregnant women crave this is the best one. Entenmann's Louisiana crunch cake. Hell of a lot better than pretzels and pickles.

Things are Looking Up!

Figure it's about time i update this site, in the month that passed not a whole lot has transpired.  Another birthday for me has come and gone, a few more projects around the house have been knocked out and a few more started.  My daily routine remains pretty much unchanged while Dawn's seems to change on a weekly basis.  Over the past month Dawn's health has definitely improved, gone from projectile vomiting on a daily basis to only once in the past week.  She was even able to take me out to dinner for my birthday and able to enjoy a big ol greasy burger at Fudruckers.

The Main Bang

For those of you reading this that may be a little rusty with their Radar Signal knowledge, get your mind outta the gutters, it really has nothing to do with how our baby was created and everything to do with my job. Simply it is a term used to describe the leading edge of a radar pulse, which will be reflected off an object and returned back to home. And like that signal i have returned back home as another week has come and gone!  One of the 'rewards' of being an Air Traffic Controller is having a schedule that really doesn't mesh well with the rest of the world.  Luckily for now i have decent days (Friday and Saturday) as my break, but in another year or so I'll probably be shifted to Wednesday and Thursday as my days off, but i digress...

Today i got to leave work early to meet my beautiful wife so we could see our child's first ultrasound.  Was quite an experience watching the nurse jab this plastic handle into Dawn's stomach to get a first glimpse of our baby.  After much prodding the nurse tried shaking the wand to get the baby to move, and what i saw was definite proof that this was my kid.  The blob shook and jumped and rolled over to go back to sleep, apparently annoyed that it was being disturbed during it's rest. Truly this is my child!  Probably dreaming of playing video games and power tools in the womb already!

And now......the Larch!

For whoever doesn't quite get the title, well shame on you, comes from one of the best shows that I've ever had the pleasure to watch. None other than Monty Python's Flying Circus.  You may be wondering what exactly this have to do with...well anything baby related,  I'll get to that in a moment.

Since the life changing day that Dawn said those 2 little words, "I'm pregnant." It seems like my whole world has changed in an instant. First thing to pop into my head was a line from Monty Python...."And now for something completely different!"  Although I'm not going through the internal transformations that my Wife is bearing with, quite a lot has changed.

No longer can I justify putting off all those projects I've been meaning to complete.  In the past 2 weeks I've probably done more work on the house than the past 6 months combined.  Just something about the sense of Fatherhood looming around the corner lit a fire under my ass. If Dawn knew that I'd start working faster after being told I'm to be a Dad,  I'm sure she would of falsely told me long long ago.
